Data Sources and Links

One of the more unique features of PolySearch 2.0 is its integration of multiple databases containing both free-text and database record. Currently PolySearch 2.0 can search and extract data from six free-text corpora and more than a dozen biomedical databases including MEDLINE/PubMed, PubMed Central, Wikipedia, US Patent application database (USPTO), DailyMed, NCBI Books, OMIM, SwissProt, DrugBank, the Human Metabolome Database (HMDB), DrugBank, FooDB, yeast metabolite database (YMDB), MedlinePlus, E. coli metabolite database (ECMDB) the Human Protein Reference Database (HPRD), the Genetic Association Database (GAD), Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG), Curated metabolic pathway database (MetaCyc). Below is a short description of each database with links.

This project is supported by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (award #111062), Alberta Innovates - Health Solutions, and by The Metabolomics Innovation Centre (TMIC), a nationally-funded research and core facility that supports a wide range of cutting-edge metabolomic studies. TMIC is funded by Genome Alberta, Genome British Columbia, and Genome Canada, a not-for-profit organization that is leading Canada's national genomics strategy with $900 million in funding from the federal government.
